Zen Nation - Inwardly Aware Outwardly Successful
Reiki is used at Harvard University and Yale, as well as in over 80 hospitals in North America.

Reiki is the single most powerful tool we have available to us in our pursuit of personal evolution.  Reiki provides many benefits, from physical healing to spiritual awakening.

It  accomplishes this by providing two effective processes in psycho-physical development. First, it stills the mind, bringing peace within.  Within this stillness of mind, away from the chatter of the conscious mind,  physical healing is accomplished, mental and emotional barriers are dissolved, and synchronicity with life is attained.  Secondly, Reiki raises your vibration, the level of consciousness where you currently reside.

Reiki  is a Japanese energy healing system which operates within the vibratory nature of the universe.  It was originally used to help individuals break down their accumulated old patterns.  Most disease and physical ailments are products of the mind and incorrect thinking patterns.  Reiki is used on an energetic level to correct these thought patterns and frequencies to restore health on a mental, emotional and physical level.

All body systems, both human and animal, have energy that flows throughout their body like an electrical current.  This energy is as natural to us as the air we breathe.  We do not consciously think of breathing and are often only aware of it when we cannot or are uncomfortable in taking in breath.  This is similar to how the circuitry of the body works.  We are not consciously aware of it but we certainly feel the effects of it when there is a disruption in the healthy flow of energy.  There are many factors that can disrupt the healthy flow of this natural energy that sustains us.  This would include thought patterns, lifestyle, injury, diet, and emotional upset to name a few.  When events such as these occur, the energy flow among the meridian lines and the outflow of energy from the chakra system is disrupted, resulting in disease and/or depression.
The human body is subject to the mind's fears that then tend to manifest as the mind holds the fear thought and gives it energy.  This has a suppressive effect on the immune system because the fear triggers the dysfunction of the meridian system and autonomic nervous system; this chronic dysfunction potentiates the appearance of actual disease.  This has been termed the nocebo effect, which has been a subject of study by institutions such as the American Health Foundation.  (Reality and Subjectivity, Dr. David Hawkins 2003).
